Holiday Update No.2 (this time from Mitch) .......................
My family (hubby + 3 kids) and I just spent the last few days with JIP.
(We arrived the same day that Kris left - missing each other by a few hours). While we were there we had fantastic weather and were able to spend every afternoon down at the beach. With JIP's partner at work, my hubby was great - he played in the water with the kids, which gave JIP and I plenty of time to sit back and relax!! It was also great to see the littles squealing with delight as the waves rolled over them (I don't know who squealed louder - them or my 4 year old daughter!!). Then Michael enjoyed a short trip in a friend's speedboat
(boys and their toys!!) Having my hubby with me also meant that we were able to give JIP some precious time to herself by taking all the kids to a playground. Then when her hubby came back from a couple of days at work, they made the most of the opportunity to go out for dinner - a rare treat!!
As with Kris - JIP and I were able to get out for a few hours and do some shopping and share a pizza. We both love looking through the Op shops (second hand clothing etc) and managed to pick up a few bargains!!
So, all in all, a great time was had by all. They now have a couple more weeks at the coast before heading back home. Hopefully, it will be as enjoyable for them as it has so far!!
Regards,
Mitch

Down the coast
Hi, this is Kris, have just got back from a week down the beach with JIP, so here's an update...
We had a fantastic time together, JIP is at her best I think when she is down there, she seems comparatively happy and relaxed (apart from the normal trials and tribulations associated with children and partner).
We took the kids to the pier and checked out the fishing boats coming in, JIP managed to score herself 3 mussels off one boat (as fresh as you can possibly get) which she thoroughly enjoyed.
We had numerous lovely afternoons down the beach with the kids, the beach is in easy walking distance from the house, but we ended up having so much to take ie. water guns, boogie boards, bucket and spade, towels, beach chairs, essential esky with refreshments, etc......that we ended up taking the car down, and that made getting home with all that and the wet/sandy kids much easier. We worked really well together, we would get home from the beach, I would bath the kids, JIP would cook dinner, we would feed them, do dishes, read story and have them in bed usually by 7.30pm .... smooth hey! Then of course we could relax, have dinner, watch movies, and generally just enjoy being together.
The littles tried coming out down the beach one afternoon to make a sandcastle, but then the twins noticed and started hassling till eventually one of them knocked it over, which of course sent them running.
My favorite day of all, was when T came down and had the kids for the day and JIP and I had a day out together, without the kids! We went looking at shops, and managed to fluke finding a market, where we proceeded to have numerous wine and other tastings and just a plain good time. We got a souvlaki for lunch, then headed to the lighthouse. There was this absolutely fantastic spot that had tens and tens of rock pools, this was the perfect time for the littles to have some fun....and they did. They found a big black fish, shells with things living in them, and the most amazing pool that was just full of starfish (we must have looked in 50 pools without seeing one starfish, then the littles discovered this one pool that was literally full of them). We really had a lovely time, and spent ages looking and discovering together.
So, to sum it up, we had an awesome week together and JIPs doing fine
